3-Year-Old Twins Spend Hours Near Father's Corpse After He Mysteriously Dies Outside Resort

Two children in India were found crying near the dead body of their father Tuesday after he mysteriously collapsed and died in front of the gate of a resort where they were staying.

The 3-year-old twins reportedly ended up spending nearly three hours next to the dead body of their father in the southern state of Kerala, before someone informed the police.

The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Jithin. He was staying at Mangrove Resort in Ernakulam district with his two children – Aiden and Amberli – when the incident took place. He had been living in the resort for the last six days as his rented house was under renovation.

It is believed Jithin developed uneasiness and stepped outside the resort, before collapsing and dying, Mathrubhumi reported. Authorities believe the cause of his death could be a heart attack. However, this can be confirmed only after the autopsy report is out.

The police arrived at the scene after a person, who saw the two kids crying near the man’s body, informed the authorities. The passer-by, identified as C.T. Radhakrishnan, said Jithin was clutching both his hands over his chest. The door of the resort was wide open and there was no one around other than the two children when Radhakrishnan found the body.

According to On Manorama, Jithin had a business in Goa and had returned to hometown in Kerala in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. His wife was in the city of Bengaluru in the state of Karnataka when the incident took place. It remains unclear who took custody of the children after the body of their father was located and moved to a hospital.

In June, two young children were found living with the decomposed body of their father for three days. According to reports at the time, the man hanged himself inside his house in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh. The kids, aged four and six, were unaware as to what to do and started living with the corpse. The incident came to light after the kids went to a neighbor's house asking for food.
