'300 Sandwich Lady' Finally Gets Engaged, And Her Fiance Tells Twitter Before He Tells Her
Congrats are in order for the "300 sandwich lady."
Stephanie Smith, the woman who promised to make her boyfriend 300 sandwiches so he would propose, finally got engaged Tuesday. According to a blog post on her website, it took only 257 sandwiches. Lucky girl.
Smith has been making sandwiches and blogging about it since last June. Her now-fiancé proposed in Barbados, but only after she made the “official sandwich of Barbados.”
Eric Shulte, the sandwich-loving fiancé in question, live-tweeted his preparations for the big move.
“Words cannot express how extraordinarily happy I am,” Smith wrote. “Not because I have a engagement ring, but because I’m going to spend the rest of my life having ridiculously amazing adventures with my soul mate.”
Smith is a writer at the New York Post. Her fiancé is a professional chef who just really likes sandwiches.
“Sandwiches are love,” he said. “Especially when you make them. You can’t get a sandwich with love from the deli.”
The jury is still out on whether or not “E” will request another set of meals before they choose a wedding date.
