Chicago police are searching for a group of men who allegedly robbed and sexually assaulted a woman Friday night in the city's North Lawndale neighborhood.

An adult woman was riding the CTA Pink Line at around 9:30 p.m. Friday when the four men allegedly approached her and grabbed her cell phone, WGN-TV reported, citing police. The woman, who was not named in the report, chased them on foot after they fled the train station.

One of the men then allegedly sexually assaulted her in a nearby alley in the 4300 block of West Cullerton Street, according to police.

Aside from her phone, the woman was allegedly also robbed of several other belongings, which were not detailed, before the men fled.

Two of the suspects were last seen wearing white T-shirts and jeans, the Chicago Sun-Times reported, citing police. Another wore all-black, including a T-shirt, shorts, socks and slippers. Police said the fourth suspect wore a black T-shirt and jeans.

All four men were said to have had face masks on at the time of the incident.

Additionally, one of the men had a tattoo on his left forearm of a name that started with the letter “F,” according to police.

Police are encouraging those with information about the incident to call the Area Four Detective Division at 312-746-8251.

The incident comes not long after a man wanted for murder in California was shot and killed inside Chicago's Union Station Tuesday, ABC7 News reported, citing Amtrak and officials.

California law enforcement had informed Amtrak officials that the unidentified man, who had multiple warrants, including a warrant for murder, will be arriving at Union Station that day on a train from Emeryville.

When Amtrack police met the suspect at the platform, the man ran away, before later injuring an Amtrak employee and opening fire at Amtrak officers.

Chicago police confirmed that one of the officers returned fire, striking the suspect in the chest. The man was immediately brought to the hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Three others were injured during the incident, but their injuries were not life-threatening.
