4-Month-Old Boy Starves To Death After Parents Leave Him Alone For 9 Days Following Argument
An infant starved to death after his parents left him alone at home for nine days following an argument in Qalyubia, Egypt.
The parents got into a heated argument Oct. 17, following which the 24-year-old mother left the home with her elder son saying she was going to the store to get groceries. However, the unidentified woman went to her parents’ home.
Assuming the woman would come back soon, the 28-year-old father left for work, which required him to be away from home for days together, local newspaper Youm7 reported.
When the unidentified man returned home from work Oct. 26, he found his four-month-old son lying unconscious. He rushed the baby to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. Doctors informed the father the boy died of starvation after being left alone without food.
The man then filed a police report, accusing his wife of leaving the baby alone for nine days.
During investigation, the woman told the officers her husband used to beat her often. She had left home assuming her husband would take care of the baby.
The parents were arrested. The charges levied against them were not known and investigation into the incident was ongoing.
The incident comes months after a three-year-old Russian girl died after her mother left her alone at home and went on a partying spree for a week.
Maria Plenkina locked Kristina in their home and went partying. A week later, Plenkina’s mother came over to the apartment to wish the girl on her birthday and found her unconscious.
Investigation revealed the girl starved to death after her mother left her alone at home without food. Plenkina visited nightclubs daily and lied to her friends the girl was being cared for by a friend.
