  • A woman was found dead from apparent suicide less than half a mile from both locations

Four individuals who were related to each other died in an apparent homicide-suicide that spanned three different crime scenes in Massachusetts on Tuesday, Lynn officials said. A 31-year-old woman is suspected of committing three homicides before shooting herself dead, the attorney's office said.

As per the Essex County District Attorney's Office, the first two deceased, both men aged 66 and 34, were found with gunshot wounds at 98 Rockaway Avenue in Lynn, Massachusetts at 2:53 p.m. Tuesday, local newspaper The Item Live reported.

Attorney Jonathan Blodgett's office further revealed that a woman was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound inside a vehicle at the Stop & Shop parking lot at 35 Washington St. The location is less than half a mile away from Rockaway Ave.

The fourth victim, an adult male, was later found dead inside a vehicle parked outside 44 Laighton St. The said location is less than a half mile away from the parking lot where the woman's body was found. Authorities did not provide details about how or when the fourth victim died.

The woman is suspected of killing her relatives before shooting herself, authorities said. The identities of all four individuals were not disclosed as the next of kin was yet to be notified. Furthermore, details are scarce regarding the motive for the three killings.

Lynn resident Shannon Kane said she hoped "nobody was in the streets when it was happening, but I'm sure some people witnessed it and a lot of trauma happened today," WCVB-TV reported.

An anonymous resident told the outlet that she heard over 20 gunshots within the Rockaway St. neighborhood Tuesday afternoon. The neighbor said the shots were fired "one after another."

Lynn Mayor Jared Nicholson released a statement on the matter, saying that "there is no ongoing danger to the community," The Item Live reported. Nicholson asked the public to respect the family's privacy while authorities pursued the investigation.

News of the triple homicide-suicide came about two years after a similar shooting incident took place in Abington, Massachusetts, wherein Joseph Zaccardi was found to have shot his wife, 11-year-old daughter, and 9-year-old twins before killing himself.

The homicide-suicide case of the Zaccardis shook the community. At that time, People reported that Zaccardi was struggling with his career as a children's book author.
