While fans are hopeful that Blake Shelton will get down on one knee and ask Gwen Stefani to marry him sooner rather than later, there are some signs that indicate that the country singer may be getting closer to proposing.

Shelton and Stefani began dating in 2015, and have been remaining coy about whether or not a wedding is in the future. The couple will once again work together on the next season of “The Voice,” where they first met and started dating.

Shelton for his credit may be giving hints that a proposal to Stefani is nearing as he talked about the possibility on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” DeGeneres gifted Shelton a giant clock as a reminder that the “clock is ticking,” and he better get down to business of asking Stefani to marry him.

In response to the gift, Shelton said, “So you're saying . . . there's a chance she's going to ask me to marry her? With this clock?"

Showing even more proof that Shelton is ready to say “I do,” he brought all three of Stefani’s sons to the “UglyDolls premiere in May. Stefani’s youngest son, Apollo, donned a pair of black cowboy boots to the event, which may mean that Shelton is rubbing off on him as a father figure.

Shelton has also gushed about how happy he is with Stefani as he told Entertainment Tonight that they’ve “never been doing better.” He went on to say, "Our relationship, it just gets stronger every day.”

He gave a subtle hint that the news may be coming soon, as he told the news outlet, “Obviously, that's gotta lead somewhere, but I promise you, we won't break the news in any of the grocery store trash magazines."

Finally, in an Instagram post, Shelton called Stefani’s niece his own. He said in the video, where he was promoting his Smithworks vodka brand with a toss game, "I'm playing my niece, Madeline, tonight."

Fans of Shelton and Stefani were quick to point out that it was actually the No Doubt singer’s niece, which could signal that he has already been integrated into her family, Yahoo News reported.
