A 4-year-old girl has allegedly died after being administered a wrong injection at a private hospital in Pakistan.

The incident took place in Hyderabad’s Latifabad area Sunday, local media reported. The child had been brought to the hospital because she was suffering from cough and nausea, the victim's family told the media. A staff member reportedly gave the injection to the child, following which she died, ARY News reported.

The family members blamed the doctor and hospital staff for showing negligence that took the life of the girl, ANI reported. After the family members protested, the doctor and hospital staff fled from the medical facility, reports claimed, citing eyewitnesses.

It remains unclear what type of injection was given to the child, which allegedly led to her death. The family members demanded an investigation into the death of the minor.

However, so far, the authorities or the hospital members have not reacted to the claims made by the victim's family.

After receiving the vaccine, the child’s health deteriorated, and he was declared dead at a sub-divisional hospital. Family members blamed the center where the child was given the vaccine. An autopsy was conducted to confirm the exact cause of death; however, the details have not been revealed. An investigation was currently underway into the incident.

In yet another case in Pakistan, a 14-year-old boy died in December after being administered an alleged wrong injection by a quack in the country.
