As coronavirus stay-at-home orders begin to lift, the largest mall operator in the U.S. is reportedly looking to open a number of its malls and outlet centers across the nation, starting on Friday.

According to an internal memo obtained by CNBC, Simon Property Group (SPG) is preparing to re-open as many as 49 malls and outlets in locations where nonessential businesses are now allowed to operate.

The malls are located in Alaska, Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Indiana, Missouri, and Texas and have staggered opening dates from Friday through May 4, the news outlet reported.

The malls will have limited hours from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday to allow for overnight cleaning, according to the memo. Free CDC-approved masks, and hand sanitizer packets will be available to shoppers that ask for them as well as free temperature tests for consumers that want it, the news outlet said.

The memo also indicated that it is recommended that shoppers wear face coverings, with employees of the mall required to wear face masks, and social distancing will also reportedly be encouraged through limited food court seating, in bathrooms, and with floor traffic decals as well as suggested contactless transactions.
