The summer drama has been hotter than the scorching temperature outside, and everything that is happening on “Days of Our Lives,” “The Young and the Restless,” and “The Bold and the Beautiful” is only setting up the rest of the summer for some major fireworks.

Every storyline seemed to take a major turn towards unexpected and shocking this week, as major plans unraveled, familiar faces made shocking returns and others paid the ultimate price for someone else’s shady behavior. In case you missed a minute of what went down, here are the five biggest moments from the week of June 24.

Xander Betrays Kristen’s Orders-Twice

He’s been working with her to carry out some devious plots in Salem, but Xander (Paul Tefler) has begun to have a change of heart when it comes to the extremes Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) expects him to go to in order to protect their secrets. Not only did she order him to murder Ted (Gilles Marini) for trying to reveal the secret that Holly was alive, but after they realized that Kate (Lauren Koslow), was eavesdropping on them for information, Kristen ordered the other woman’s death as well. However, since he wants to impress Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) and be a better person for her, he has stashed both of them in the secret room in the DiMera Tunnels instead-and is keeping them there for the time being. However, as far as Kristen knows, the two are dead—and lying to her could prove to be a problem for Xander later on.

Claire Comes Fully Undone

DOOL 2

She’s been teetering on the edge of her sanity for a long time, and now, after Tripp (Lucas Adams) and Ciara (Victoria Konefal) tried setting up a plan to get her to convince to setting the cabin fires, she was pushed to her brink. Now, she has even gone so far as to nearly kill Tripp by holding a knife to his throat—something that no one ever saw her doing.

Chloe Reveals She’s Alive

Not only did Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) finally come face-to-face with both Adam (Marc Grossman) and Kevin (Greg Rikaart), but she made a few other reveals as well before heading back to Portland. Not only did she get Kevin to bring her mother, Esther (Kate Linder) to her and convince her to come back to Portland with her, but she also revealed the truth about her being alive to Billy (Jason Thompson)--making a plea to him to get Kevin, who is now being forced to work for Adam and stay away from her and their daughter, back to her safely.

Chelsea Returns To Genoa City

She seemed like she wasn’t going to make a return to town since she had moved on and remarried outside of GC. However, Chelsea (Melissa Clare Egan) has now surprisingly arrived back in Genoa City, just in time to stop Adam and Nick (Joshua Morrow) from getting into a nasty fight. Now, she’ll need to reveal why she’s there—even if her return doesn’t mean what some may hope.

“The Bold And The Beautiful” (CBS)

Emma’s Death Raises Major Questions

Following news that Emma (Nia Sioux) died in a car accident after having an argument with Thomas (Matthew Atkinson), the potential role he may have played in her death was quickly discussed. Xander (Adain Bradley) feels Thomas may have run her off the road to keep her from telling Hope (Annika Noelle) the truth about her baby, but he doesn’t have proof, and Thomas has covered with a plausible new story. Still, knowing Thomas is also obsessed with Hope and is doing whatever he can to try and get her for himself, Xander likely won’t just accept Thomas’ story at face value.
