A 5-month-old baby girl from Arizona has been missing after her biological mother forcibly removed her from the foster family, officials said.
The police are searching for the infant identified as Eunice Salinas after she was taken by her biological mother, Angelica Salinas, from the foster family in Phoenix on Saturday night.
"Angelica does not have custodial rights to Eunice and there is a concern for the child's safety," Phoenix police officials said in a statement, as reported by the New York Post.
The investigators have concerns for the child's safety as Angelica does not have a known place of residency or resources to take care of the baby, according to reports. The police fear the child may be outside in the heat, news outlet ABC 15 reported.
However, the police have not issued an amber alert for the missing child.
Angelica is described as a 24-years-old female with a height of 4' 10'' and weighing around 135 pounds. She has hazel eyes and brown hair, police said. The investigators have, however, not revealed details about what Angelica was last seen wearing or if a vehicle was involved in the incident.
Eunice was last seen in blue and pink flowered pajamas. She weighs about 15 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes, the police said.
The police are actively investigating the case as of Monday morning.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Angelica or Eunice is requested to contact the investigators at (602) 534-2121 or call 911 as soon as possible.
A 1-year-old missing toddler, who was abducted by his father in Georgia, was found dead beside the body of the man in June. An investigation revealed the baby's father, Darian Javaris Bennett, allegedly shot the mother of his child, Keshawn Washington, and the grandmother before kidnapping the baby. Bennet allegedly shot the kidnapped child before pulling the trigger on himself, the police said. Washington was found dead at the scene, while the grandmother was hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds.
