Following ABC’s cancellation of Tim Allen’s “Last Man Standing,” many fans of the series were left upset as the show had proven to be a hit with viewers. While fans won’t be getting any new episodes of the sitcom, there are other shows similar to “Last Man Standing” that can fill the void. Check out these five other sitcoms like “Last Man Standing”:

“Home Improvement”

Going back to “Home Improvement” reruns makes the most sense for “Last Man Standing” fans, since Allen’s latest show was considered a spiritual successor to his hit 1990s series. Like in “Last Man Standing,” Allen’s character in “Home Improvement” is a father of three children and is obsessed with passing down his manhood. Also similar to “Last Man Standing,” Allen uses his job in “Home Improvement” to share his views.

While “Home Improvement” isn’t available for streaming, the Hallmark Channel airs reruns of the series Monday through Fridays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

“The Real O’Neals”

Based on an idea from Dan Savage, “The Real O’Neals” follows an Irish-American Catholic family from Chicago who aim to be the perfect family. The family’s hope for perfection all comes to an end in the first episode when secrets are revealed: the middle child is gay, the oldest child is anorexic, the youngest child is involved in a money scam and the parents want to get a divorce.

Like “Last Man Standing,” “The Real O’Neals” was also cancelled by ABC but Season 1 of the series can be streamed on Hulu.

“Man With A Plan”

Starring Matt LeBlanc of “Friends” fame, the CBS series follows Adam Burns, a stay-at-home father who realizes that raising his children is harder than he thought after his wife goes back to work. Like “Last Man Standing,” Burns is the father of three children and interacts with them throughout the episodes.

The series currently airs on CBS and was recently renewed for a second season after its 22-episode first season.

“Reba”

Set in the suburbs of Houston, Texas, Reba Hart is a single mother whose ex-husband Brock left her to marry a young woman named Barbra Jean. Throughout early seasons of the series, Reba has to deal with her pregnant high school senior daughter, her rebiulous teenage middle child and her young son. The mother of three also has another person living in her home when the father of her daughter’s baby moves in and quickly adopts Reba as his own mother.

With six seasons, there are plenty of episodes of “Reba” to watch which can be found on CMT. Reruns of the series air Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

“Roseanne”

The classic sitcom, which originally ran from 1998 to 1997, was praised for its realistic portrayal of the average American family. Set in Illinois, the series follows the Conners family, a working-class bunch who struggle to get by on their low income.

Reruns of the series currently air on CMT and TV Land, and a new season was just announced by ABC for 2018.
