5 Questions We Need Answered In ‘Animal Kingdom’ Season 4
Viewers have been anticipating the arrival of the “Animal Kingdom” Season 4 premiere, so they can get answers following the tense Season 3 finale. When the TNT drama returns, fans will see the Cody family challenge one another after Smurf fails to give the boys the freedom they desire.
Here are 5 questions that need to be answered in “Animal Kingdom” Season 4:
1. How Far Will Smurf Go To Maintain Control Of Her Family?
Smurf’s (Ellen Barkin) prison stint made her an outsider in her family. As a result, J (Finn Cole) stepped up as the new leader. Smurf is used to being number one and killed Baz (Scott Speedman) when he threatened to come between her and her money. Now that J is threatening her authority, will he be next on her hit list?
2. Will J Take Over The Family Business?
In the “Animal Kingdom” Season 3 finale, J vowed to take away everything and everyone Smurf cared about. Even though Smurf loves power and money, she needs to feel like she is in charge of the men in her family. J realized he was just a pawn in his grandmother’s game and is ready to seek revenge. Will J succeed in taking everything away from Smurf or will the long-time criminal outsmart her grandson?
3. Will Pope Finally Snap?
Since Baz’s death, Pope (Shawn Hatosy) has been slowly spiraling out of control. In “Animal Kingdom” Season 4, viewers will see Pope deal with his feelings and his damaged relationship with Smurf. Will the eldest Cody son finally turn on his mother or will Smurf convince Pope to remain loyal?
4. Will The Cody Family Find Out Mia Shot Baz?
In Season 3, viewers learned Smurf paid Pete (Reynaldo Gallegos) to kill Baz, but Mia (Sohvi Rodriguez) pulled the trigger that ended his life. J has had a tough time trusting his family, but would his perspective change if he learned Mia executed his biological father?
5. Will A New Character Cause Chaos In The Storyline?
Emily Deschanel will join the “Animal Kingdom” Season 4 cast as a character named Angela, who is an old friend of J’s mom, Julia. The Cody family will already be in a fragile state when Season 4 premieres and the actress revealed she may not receive a warm welcome from Smurf.
“Yeah, she really is at odds with Smurf. There’s a territorial thing there. And Angela’s also looking out for J, who is Julia’s son and who she sees as sort of her own son or a nephew. But he doesn’t know if he can trust Angela,” Deschanel told TVLine.
“She doesn’t know who she can trust, either. So there’s a lot of trying to figure out where she stands with different people, a lot of different dynamics.”
Does Angela have the power to break up the Codys, or will the family refuse to trust Julia’s old friend?
“Animal Kingdom” Season 4 premieres Tuesday at 9 p.m. EDT on TNT.
