5 Reasons Why Google’s Upcoming Nexus 4G AT&T Could Beat iPhone 5
Apple may release its much-awaited iPhone 5 in September which will be before Google Nexus 4G which is expected around Thanksgiving this year, but the Cupertino-based company will still face the heat from the Absolute Monster among smartphones.
Below are 5 reasons why Google Nexus 4G may have the capability to blow away Apple's iPhone 5:
Operating systems: Google’s Nexus 4G AT&T is rumored to run on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) which is set to become the most enhanced Android OS version ever released. Ice Cream Sandwich will combine the best features of Honeycomb (Android tablet OS) and Gingerbread (Android smartphone OS). The new OS is also expected to flash features like expanding and resizing widgets and apps, facial detection with the camera and will allow Android devices to be used as USB hosts to allow gamers to plug in external hardware devices such as an Xbox controller. Nexus 4G AT&T will become the first ever smartphone in the planet to run on Ice Cream Sandwich. Apple’s iPhone 5, on the other hand, will be running on iOS 5 which is the newest version of the iOS OS versions. The new iOS 5 is expected come with 200 new features which will include Improved Notifications System, News Stand and iMessage. It is left to see which platform will outsmart the other in the long run.
Camera: Apple’s iPhone 5 will have an 8MP dual-LED flash camera with 1080p video playback and panoramic photo capture. The Nexus, when compared, is expected to sport a 5MP rear camera with 1080p HD video recording and playback which will provide sensor support and optimum output even during a low-light situation, and a front-facing 1MP camera for wide-screen video chat. The Nexus is also expected to come with an enhanced S3D video capability for supporting 3D display and 3D recording.
Screen: iPhone 4 had a screen size of 3.5-inch which will now see a major change with the upcoming iPhone 5. The new Apple-made smartphone is expected to have a bigger edge-to-edge 3.7 to 4-inch curved glass screen. The Google Nexus 4G AT&T will come with a monster-sized 4.5-5-inch screen that will be supporting edge-to-edge video calling. The screen size can play a major role in both the smartphones’ selection. The Nexus, here, clearly has an advantage over Apple’s iPhone 5.
Processor: The Google Nexus 4G AT&T has been called absolute beast among smartphones and there is a very good reason as to why it has been called so. The smartphone will boast a dual-core Snapdragon processor which will include Krait chips from Qualcomm, and a 1GB RAM. It is yet to be decided if the processor will be of either 1.2GHz or 1.5GHz. The krait based Snapdragon processor will have the ability to run at a lightning speed of 2.5 GHz per core at the least power which will make it more than a hundred times faster than a normal ARM based CPU. Apple’s iPhone 5, which is rumored to arrive in September, will sport a dual-core A5 processor with probably a 1GB RAM which, in comparison to Nexus 4G, is very less and Apple may need to rethink on the smartphone’s development procedure and add everything required to counter such kind of threats.
Pricing: Apple’s iPhone 5 is expected to hit the markets in September and has been rumored to be priced at $600. That may sound expensive for any buyer looking for a new smartphone. The Nexus 4G, expected to be available on Thanksgiving in November, is believed to be less costly compared to iPhone 5 according to experts. If the Google smartphone is priced below iPhone 5 then Apple has serious problems in their hands as the Apple-made device may lose its potential in the market.
