5 Things Libertarian Gary Johnson Doesn't Know; Candidate Has Another Aleppo Moment During Town Hall
Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson drew a blank Wednesday during a town hall meeting in Durham, New Hampshire, when he was asked to name his favorite foreign leader.
The former New Mexico governor stared blankly for a few moments, the New York Post reported, then finally picked the former president of Mexico — but he could remember the man’s name. “I guess I’m having an Aleppo moment,” said Johnson who earlier this month asked, “What is Aleppo,” when asked to comment on the siege of the Syrian city.
He finally said he likes German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Here are five other things Johnson didn’t know about:
- The nuclear triad: three ways the U.S. can fire a nuclear weapon
- That anyone works for minimum wage: 1.7 million people do, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics
- That 29 people were hurt in the bombing in New York’s Chelsea neighborhood
- How to use Snapchat
- How he’s going to get to the presidential debate stage
But that’s OK, because 70 percent of Americans don’t know who he is.
