50 Cent Charged With Domestic Violence, Rapper Denies Arrest On Twitter
Rapper 50 Cent has been charged with domestic violence and vandalism by the Los Angeles Police Department, according to reports.
The charges were handed down on July 3 and stem from an incident in which the rapper is said to have kicked his child's mother and destroyed property in her condo in Toluca Lake, Calif., reports MTV.
According a statement from an L.A. city attorney, Curtis Jackson, known by his stage name 50 Cent, faces one count of domestic violence and four counts of vandalism.
"During an argument, Jackson allegedly began destroying the female's property," the prosecutor said. "Allegedly when the female locked herself in her bedroom, Jackson kicked-open the bedroom door and kicked her, causing an injury."
When police arrived on the scene, they discovered broken chandelier and furniture along with clothes thrown on the floor, according to news reports. The damaged is estimated to be $7,100.
The rapper took to his Twitter account to deny the arrest saying, "I'm in the car I haven't been arrested. I'm listing to MJ#SMSAUDIO."
50 Cent is scheduled to return to court on July 22 and could face up to five years in jail and $46,000 in fines if found guilty.
