'50 Shades Of Grey' Actress Gets A Pixie Cut? Dakota Johnson Spotted With Brunette Hair
Actress Dakota Johnson was the recipient of negative reactions from the “Fifty Shades of Grey” fan base last week after it was announced that she was chosen to take on the coveted role of Anastasia Steele. Fans of the popular erotica series turned major motion picture once again unleashed their concerns about Johnson this week after the actress was spotted sporting a shorter, brunette hairdo.
According to a report from WetPaint.com, the 23-year-old actress was spotted in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Friday almost recognizable sporting a brunette pixie cut, a large departure from her usual long, blonde tresses. While a change in appearance, the actress was reportedly only rocking the look while on set of her latest film “Cymbeline” in which she stars as Imogen in the remaining of Shakespeare’s classic tale.
While it has yet to be confirmed whether Johnson’s new look was achieved with the help of a hair piece, fans of the “Fifty Shades of Grey” book series shared their concerns of the actress’s new look on social media. “Okay Charlie Hunnam is actually kind of hot with short hair and no beard but Dakota Johnson… Seriously!! Seriously! [sic]” wrote Twitter used Kwistinaa Friday. “Even with dark hair Dakota Johnson looks nothing like Ana,” said user IsabelleRose82.
While some shared their concerns over the Texas natives' change in appearance, others supported the alleged dye job. “The idea of Dakota Johnson as Ana Steele is growing on me, she is pretty, especially with darker hair,” said IckleAimz on Twitter. “I must say thought, I really can see Dakota Johnson as Anastasia,” said theeAshleyB. “She looks just like I imagined her with brunette hair.”
Author of the “Fifty Shades of Grey” trilogy, E.J. James, announced on Sep. 2 that Johnson and “Sons of Anarchy” actor Charlie Hunnam would star as onscreen lovers, Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, in the film adaption. Following the long-anticipated casting news, fans released messages of outrage to the filmmakers for not casting longtime fan favorites, “White Collar” actor Matt Bomer and former “Gilmore Girls” star, Alexis Bledel. In response to the controversy, Bomer, 35, released a statement in support of the film’s stars last week and thanked fans for their support. “I’m so grateful for the fans and touched. I’m looking forward to seeing the movie with Charlie and Dakota,” he said.
