‘50 Shades Of Grey’ Movie: Paul Walker Wanted To Play Christian Grey In ‘Fifty Shades’ Before His Death
An interview with Paul Walker taken during the summer of 2013 is now resurfacing online following his tragic death late last month. In the exclusive chat, Walker, 40, confesses to wanting to star in the upcoming erotica film adaptation of author E.L. James’ novel “Fifty Shades of Grey.”
When prompted by an Entertainment Tonight reporter on the set of the film “Brick Mansions” in July regarding his thoughts on the sexually charged storyline, Walker admits that he would be interested in starring in the film, but only under one condition. According to Walker, he would only accept the role of BDSM expert and billionaire Christian Grey if he had a special connection with the actress cast as female lead, Anastasia “Ana” Steele.
“It would be really important to have incredible chemistry with whoever the girl was and it couldn’t be something you would have to force,” said Walker, who refused to divulge the name of his desired on-screen love interest. “I think people need to spend a lot of time together and I think intimate time would probably help, you know?” he later added.
Walker, who passed away on Nov. 30th following a fiery car crash in Santa Clarita, Calif., also discussed his close bond with his daughter, 15-year-old Meadow Walker, in the recently resurfaced clip. “She is honestly the best partner I’ve ever had,” said Walker, who said the teen looks out for his best interest. “She lives with me full time now so we are all in this together. When it comes time to consider a project whether we are going to do it now, we sit down, we powwow, we discuss it, because shes gotta be on board,” said Walker.
Despite Walker’s interest in starring in “Fifty Shades of Grey,” actor Jamie Dornan was cast as lead Christian Grey in October following the departure of the film’s former star, actor Charlie Hunnam. In September, James announced that former TV sitcom star Dakota Johnson had signed on to star as lead female, Anastasia Steele.
