’50 Shades Of Grey’ Movie Trailer Rumored To Premiere During 2014 Super Bowl
Looks like its full steam ahead for the “50 Shades Of Grey” movie! Just a day after the casting announcement for leads Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, the rumor mill is turning regarding the first official trailer – which will reportedly debut during the 2014 Super Bowl.
The rumor began circulating thanks to an article on The Wrap that claimed production for “50 Shades Of Grey” will begin this fall with the looming Aug. 1, 2014 theatrical release date. “[The approaching release date] means press screenings will likely start in July, if not earlier for long-lead press,” The Wrap reports. “Expect a trailer in the spring, possibly during the Super Bowl.”
While the Super Bowl trailer release is currently just a rumor, it’s important to consider that The Wrap was the first to report that “Sons Of Anarchy” star Charlie Hunnam was being considered for the role of Christian Grey. Author E.L. James confirmed his casting, as well as Dakota Johnson’s via Twitter on Sep. 2.
A source close to the Focus Features film told The Wrap that Hunnam and Johnson had to do a “chemistry read” in order to prove that they shared some on-screen heat. Hunnam reportedly did tests with several actresses before executives decided on Johnson.
But despite the pair reportedly heating up the screen during their test, fans are not feeling very warm regarding the casting. The backlash from the announcement of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele was so bad that E.L. James and producer Dana Burnetti actually responded to the film’s haters.
James tweeted: “To all the supporters, lovers and haters – thank you so much for the passion that you have for this project. You all rock. All of you.
Meanwhile Brunetti tweeted: “There is a lot that goes into casting that isn’t just looks. Talent, availability, their desire to do it, chemistry with other actor, etc… So if your favorite wasn’t cast, then it is most likely due to something on that list. Keep that in mind while hating and keep perspective.”
