A 6-year-old boy died after falling from a snow blower on Friday in Utah.

The boy, identified as Herman Slaughter, fell to his death from a Kubota skid-steer loader while helping his father and 9-year-old brother clear the Aspen Grove family camp in Provo Canyon. The machine “bounced or lurched,” causing him to fall and obstruct its path, according to the Utah County Sheriff's Office.

After he fell down, a piece from the equipment struck his head, thereby rendering him critically injured. His father began performing CPR until paramedics arrived, but he died at the scene, the New York Post reported.

“We don’t think this was anything other than a tragic accident,” Utah County Sheriff’s Sergeant Spencer Cannon said.

In August, Dylan Kramel, 20, died in a skid-steer loader accident in Missouri after he fell from it and his friend Logan Rowles, 24, who was behind the wheels, mistakenly ran him over. Kramel was riding the scoop when the vehicle hit a pothole and threw him in its path. Kramel was taken to a Jefferson City hospital where he was pronounced dead.

In March, two mechanics of a Texas company died after being accidentally pinned under a skid loader. Robert Goldberg, 77, and Vikunt Chand, 46, were crushed by the equipment they were repairing in Cleburne, Texas. They had suffered multiple blunt force injuries and were pronounced dead at a Cleburne hospital.
