6-Year-Old Girl's Mutilated Body Found With Several Organs Missing, Occult Link Being Investigated

The mutilated body of a six-year-old girl in India was found with several vital organs missing, raising suspicions of a possible occult practice.

The unidentified victim was playing near her home in a village in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday evening when she went missing. The girl’s family members started searching for her when she didn’t return home for hours.

The following morning, the girl’s mutilated body was found in the bushes with several organs, including both lungs, missing. The body has since been sent for autopsy to determine the cause of death.

"Her body was in a badly mutilated state. Police have shifted the body to mortuary for an autopsy to ascertain exact cause of death," Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Kanpur Preetinder Singh told local daily the Times of India.

Two neighbors have been taken into custody in connection with the incident. They reportedly lured the victim away with a promise of a packet of chips.

"They have confessed to the crime and we will ensure strict punishment for them," Singh told newspaper Mid-Day about the neighbors' arrest.

The girl’s family alleged she was killed in connection with an occult practice.

"We are investigating the case from all possible angles," a police officer told the newspaper.

Earlier this month, a man in Uttar Pradesh killed his 10-year-old daughter and buried her body in the house upon an occultist’s advice. The accused was told there was treasure buried under his residence and the only way to know the location was to perform the ritual on his daughter. The man was arrested.

In a similar incident last year, the mutilated body of a 19-year-old woman was found in a field in a village in the same state. A farmer found the severed body after he saw a pack of dogs digging out flesh. The body was found with no head and arms. Investigation revealed Saqib, a black magic practitioner, was behind the heinous crime. The man was taken into custody and charged under the relevant sections of the Indian law.
