62-Year-Old Man Brutally Kills Girlfriend On Suspicion Of Having An Affair, Surrenders To Police

A 62-year-old man in Jamaica was taken into custody for brutally killing his girlfriend out of jealousy over suspicion of her having an affair.

The elderly man, whose identity was not revealed, killed his girlfriend, identified as 29-year-old Nickeisha Keeling, at their home late Saturday night. He then walked to a nearby police station and confessed to the crime, Loop News Barbados reported.

Officers arrived at the residence and found the partially nude woman lying in a pool of blood in the bedroom. The officers found several chop wounds all over the woman’s body. They rushed her to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

During interrogation, the suspect told the officers that he killed his girlfriend because she cheated on him. He said that she had been regularly messaging and calling other men. The man and the deceased have an 8-year-old son.

Annette Keeling, the deceased’s mother, told local daily Jamaica Gleaner that her daughter had come over to meet her Saturday morning and was in a jovial mood. Annette added that she wasn’t aware of any dispute between her daughter and her husband.

Annette said she received a call Sunday morning saying that her daughter had been brutally murdered by her husband. Annette told Jamaica Gleaner that the suspect was earlier imprisoned in another town for killing his girlfriend, a claim yet to be verified by the police.

Meanwhile, the victim’s 8-year-old son was in the care of her mother. The suspect was scheduled to appear in court Monday where he will be charged in connection with the murder.

In a similar incident in the Indian city of Mumbai earlier this month, a man stabbed his wife to death over suspicion of her having an affair. The accused, identified as Mahesh Soni, got into a heated argument with his wife, Poonam, during which picked up a knife and stabbed her 10 times. The incident took place at their home when their children were away. Investigation revealed that the accused was unemployed and used to constantly harass his wife physically and mentally.
