7 Things To Watch On TV Tonight Besides Trump’s State Of The Union
If you’re looking for your regular Tuesday night TV shows, you might not find them on Jan. 30. Most broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC) will be airing President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address Tuesday at 9 p.m. EST. Of course, those looking for some more entertaining have other things to watch tonight.
“Black Lightning” (The CW, 9 p.m.) DC’s latest superhero TV show launched just a couple weeks ago, so it’s still early enough to jump in. Jefferson (Cress Williams) has brought Black Lightning out of retirement, but he questions if his town can survive without the hero.
Elsewhere, Anissa (Nafessa Williams) starts exploring her powers, and her family will notice that she’s hiding something. Her little sister Jennifer (China Anne McClain), meanwhile, is a little too open with her parents.
“The Haves and the Have Nots” (OWN, 9 p.m.) The drama continues in Season 5 of this Tyler Perry-produced TV show. Hanna (Crystal R. Fox) will reveal a dark secret to her daughter in episode 4. Meanwhile, David (Peter Parros) asks Katheryn (Renee Lawless) for help.
“Fixer Upper” (HGTV, 9 p.m.) Chip and Joanna Gaines fix a house for a family in need. They get some help from Tim Tebow and the Tim Tebow Foundation when they need to make a house wheelchair accessible. As they keep renovating, more organizations jump onboard to give the family the home of their dreams.
“Married at First Sight” (Lifetime, 9 p.m.) The spouses (who just met at the altar) continue their honeymoons, but they’re just getting to know each other. Jephte Pierre and Shawniece Jackson will be enjoying Jamaica, but they aren’t consummating their marriage yet. Jephte isn’t even sleeping in the same bed as his wife yet.
“I Am Jazz” (TLC, 9 p.m.) The docu-series follows Jazz Jennings, a trans teenager. In this new Season 4 episode, she’ll consider dating. She agrees to go on a group date with a girl.
“The Goonies” (Syfy, 9 p.m.) This 1985 classic follows a group of kids who find a treasure map. They decide to look for the bounty, but they aren’t the only ones after it.
“Apollo 13” (Sundance, 9 p.m.) This 1995 Oscar winner follows the real-life story of NASA’s 1970 lunar mission. When an onboard explosion happens, the mission has to be aborted, and flight controllers must figure out how to safely get the astronauts home.
