‘9-1-1’ Spoilers: Peter Krause’s Bobby Gets Emotional In Episode 2 Sneak Peek
The sneak peek of “9-1-1” Season 1, episode 2 is hinting at an emotional turn of events for Peter Krause’s Captain Bobby Nash. Elsewhere, Connie Britton’s Abby will receive some help from firefighter Buck (Oliver Stark), while Angela Basset’s Athena Grant will team up with Hen (Aisha Hinds) on a new mission.
Ahead of “9-1-1’s” return to Fox for an all-new episode this coming Wednesday, a new promo clip surfaced online showing another action-packed hour for Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s latest collaboration. The trailer starts with Nash saying, “Everyday we encounter people who are having the worst day of their entire lives,” while the clip shows the first responders arriving on the scene of the emergency.
It seems one of the emergencies in the episode involves a suicidal man who is trying to jump off a building. While it isn’t clear who this man is, the preview shows that Captain Bobby Nash gets affected by the turnout of this mission since he is seen having an emotional breakdown in front of his peers moments later.
The rest of the teaser clip for “9-1-1” Season 1, episode 2, titled “Let Go,” is a mixture of happy and tense moments as the Police Department, Fire Department and 9-1-1 emergency team fulfil their duties side-by-side. Most of the positive moments flashed in the promo vid are those that Bobby, Athena and Abby share with their colleagues though, hinting at their ongoing battles at home.
The synopsis for episode details the different emergency situations that the lead characters and their corresponding teams will be tackling come Wednesday night. Bobby will find himself rescuing a couple following a dispute, while Athena and Hen take on an unusual home invasion mission. Abby who is still taking care of her ailing mother will reach out to Buck for help.
Meanwhile, Britton recently opened up to TV Guide about having her reservations on her ability to take on the role of Abby. “I think I announced that I am not the right actor for this job,” Britton said of the time she hesitated to take on the role after doing her research by watching an actual 911 dispatcher on the job.
The “Friday Night Lights” alum said that she almost bowed out of the project after showing up for the first day of filming. According to her, she felt intimidated by the computer screens that real 911 operators use. Fortunately, she stuck it out and is more than comfortable taking on the role of a 911 dispatcher.
“9-1-1” Season 1, episode 2, “Let Go,” airs Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 9 p.m. EST on Fox.
