Many couples wanting to get hitched have waited for the 9-9-09, some chose this date with belief that it brings along luck while others have simply chosen the date to help them remember their anniversary later.

Nine couples wed at the Madame Tussauds wax museum on the Las Vegas Strip at 9:09 a.m., while 99 more were waiting until 9:09 p.m. for a shared ceremony in the observation deck at the Stratosphere Tower. The wedding package for each couple cost $99, the Associated Press reported.

According to the report the Las Vegas Chapel was on this date booked for 70 ceremonies compared to only 12 on the same date last year.

Another couple described the date as an easy date to remember and neither spouse would forget it easily.
