9-Month-Old Boy Sexually Assaulted, Murdered By Babysitter's Husband

A man in Malaysia has been charged in connection with the sexual assault and murder of a 9-month-old child, who was under his wife’s care.

The accused, identified as 36-year-old Mohamad Badruldin, sodomized the infant and suffocated the baby to death using his hands in the bedroom when his wife was sweeping the other rooms, Malay Mail reported. It remained unclear if the incident, which took place on April 27, occurred at the baby’s house or the accused’s residence.

An autopsy revealed there were lacerations and tear marks on the infant’s anus, which is believed to be due to the insertion of a blunt object. There were also bruises around the baby’s mouth.

"The cause of death was because his mouth was cupped until he suffocated," police officer Mohamad Hamid said, World of Buzz reported.

The accused and his wife, whose identity was not revealed, were detained on April 30 to assist in the investigation.

"The results of the urine screening test on both suspects showed that they tested positive for methamphetamine," the officer said.

Past records showed Badruldin, who is unemployed, had two criminal records involving drugs while his wife had none.

The accused appeared in court Tuesday and was charged with murder and "for having unnatural intercourse" with the infant and was denied bail. He may be sentenced to death if found guilty of murder. Badruldin is scheduled to appear in court again on June 15, New Straits Times reported.

Meanwhile, his wife is expected to appear in court later this week.

"His wife will be released and will be charged according to Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952," officer Hamid said.

Earlier this year, two men in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh were sentenced to death for raping and beheading a 12-year-old girl. The court heard the men, believed to be the girl’s relatives, kidnapped the minor and raped her before beheading her with a sickle and dumping the body in farmland.
