Since Fernanda Flores and Jonathan Rivera’s split in late 2018, the “90 Day Fiancé: What Now?” couple have been vague about the exact cause of their divorce. After Fernanda posted a video accusing Jonathan of abuse, the North Carolina resident seemingly mocked his ex on Instagram.

On Thursday, Fernanda uploaded a YouTube video explaining why she chose to end her marriage with Jonathan. Although he denied the abuse allegations, Jonathan appeared to use his new girlfriend, Janelle Miller, to assist him in shading Fernanda following her emotional post.

According to In Touch, Jonathan took to his Instagram Story after Fernanda’s video and shared a clip of his own. In the video, Jonathan held on to his girlfriend as Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran’s song, “I Don’t Care” played in the background.

The tune discusses the comfort one feels when they are in a relationship with the right person. The lyrics to the chorus read, “‘Cause I don’t care when I’m with my baby, yeah / All the bad things disappear.”

In Fernanda’s YouTube video titled, “My Truth,” the TLC star revealed she was dependent on Jonathan when she first moved from Mexico to the US. Fernanda claimed Jonathan would often use the fact that he was the breadwinner against her.

“There were a couple times [when] Jonathan put his hands on me,” she explained.

“I was in a really abusive relationship. He’s paying for my living, he’s providing all this for me, he’s a hard worker, and [it was like] I shouldn’t … be giving him more problems.”

Jonathan has since denied the accusations made against him and revealed he planned to take legal action against Fernanda.

“These allegations are completely false and my attorney will now be handling the situation. Clearly, she will do whatever she has to in order to stay in this country,” he told E! News in a statement.
