‘90 Day Fiancé’ Fake Names? Jorge And Chantel’s Real Monikers
There are some people who claim “90 Day Fiancé” isn’t real, even though the couples argue differently. One thing that might be phony, however, is the names some of the cast uses. Jorge and Chantel. The theory was sparked by a Reddit thread Saturday.
Some viewers noticed that family members and in-laws sometimes referred to Jorge and Chantel by a different name. In Jorge’s case, some Reddit users claimed he didn’t pronounce his own name correctly.
“Why do you think some people on the show use a fake names? Is it privacy/protection or are they just actors. Chantal's real name is SeaAir and I've read that Jorge's real name is Andrew,” Lolocashme proposed Saturday.

“You know what?!? He freaking looks like an Andrew!” one of the top commenters wrote.
A popular point among Reddit users was Chantel’s name didn’t match with sisters River and Winter. “Seems like mother Chantel has a theme,” KathrinPissinger wrote.
Since most of the cast uses their real names, some people theorized Chantel changed her name because her “real” one is too unique and Jorge altered his since he works in the marijuana industry.
“I don't think [privacy/protection] could be for that reason, because everyone eventually figures out their real name. I think Chantel uses a fake name because CeAir is kind of...too unique and she wanted to use a ‘stage name.’ I have no idea why Jorge chose a fake name (but it's obvious he did because he can even pronounce 'Jorge' right),” novodanata wrote Saturday.
Others claimed it was TLC who wanted Chantel to change her name. “I don't know, the thing of Chantel's real name being CeAir makes more sense with her siblings all having very similar super hippy like names like that (River, and I think her sister's name is Winter) I feel like it would be more odd for someone to name their oldest super hippy dippy, give their middle child a "normal" name, and then go all hippy again for the youngest. It could be that TLC requested the name change as her real name is so unique that people would have had a much easier time finding her more quickly on social media if they used it on the show. No clue why they changed Jorge's name though, the only thing I can think of was so that people wouldn't be so easily able to look up his arrest records online,” applepwnz explained.
As for why Jorge changed his name, xx mused it was because of his career. “My guess is Jorge uses aliases because of his line of work. I 100 percent tried to find his dispensary operation with my Google-fu (out of curiosity, I’m way across the country) during season 4 of OG 90 day. I did not find anything interesting at the time. Surely I'm not the only one, and surely other 90 day viewers would take that even further if it was easier to pin down,” alexbrobrafeld wrote.

Someone else who users thought might have a fake name is Pedro. There was various times his family members “slipped” and called him “Junior.” One of the discussions was whether his “real name” was Junior or whether it was just a nickname.
“Junior is a VERY common nickname with Dominicans and Puerto Rican's. That is not his real name. I have like 5 ‘uncle juniors,’” planesandpancakes explained.
So what’s next for the couple? Don’t miss Anfisa and Jorge “90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?” when it airs Sunday at 8 p.m. EDT on TLC.
