When “90 Day Fiancé” viewers saw Ashley Martson dump her husband, Jay Smith, after learning he was cheating on her, many believed their marriage was over. However, the TLC couple recently revealed that they are back together and working on their marriage.

Fans of the reality series witnessed Ashley and Jay’s marriage apart once she discovered that he downloaded a dating app a few days after their wedding. Even though Ashley has filed for divorce on two separate occasions, the couple has not given up on their relationship.

The couple made their YouTube debut in a Q&A video in which they opened up about their reconciliation. In the video, Ashley explained why she got back together with Jay following his infidelity.

“I feel, like, if you have trouble in your marriage or your relationship, and you choose to try it again, you have to tell yourself before you get back in that relationship that ‘the past is the past,’” she revealed.

“You chose to forgive for what they did in the past,” she added.

Although it took Ashley some time to realize she wanted to rekindle her romance with Jay, the Jamaica native revealed he never gave up on saving their marriage. “At the end of the day, I came here for her. I don’t want to come to America and be with somebody else. I wanna be with her,” he explained.

“So, I choose to fight for my relationship because I want to be in her life, I want to be there [for] her hard times, and I want [her] to be there for my hard times as well.”

Jay and Ashley insisted they are doing everything in their power to rebuild their relationship, including seeking professional help. “We are in a lot of counseling, taking it day by day with no expectations,” the Pennsylvania resident revealed.

Although Ashley admitted that she occasionally doubts her decision to move forward with Jay, she remains committed to making their marriage work.

“So you need to remember that, because obviously our minds wonder about things and we just have to tell ourselves, ‘Hey, listen. You forgave. So, the past is the past,’” she said.

It is unclear whether Ashley and Jay will return to one of the “90 Day Fiancé” franchises.
