‘90 Day Fiancé’ Update: Jenny Fears Sumit Will ‘Destroy’ Her Amid Divorce Proceeding
Despite their obstacles, “90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way” couple Jenny Slatten and Sumit are still fighting to be together. Although Jenny was willing to give their relationship another chance after learning Sumit was married, the Season 2 premiere of the TLC series revealed that Jenny was beginning to question their future together.
Last time viewers saw Jenny, she moved back to Palm Springs. In the Season 2 premiere, Sumit appeared to be focused on going through with his divorce while Jenny stressed over their past.
“He was being pressured to stay with his wife. It was horrible. I don’t like to remember it. We were both devastated. It was heartbreaking to leave India after giving up everything and finding out Sumit was married and had been lying to me,” Jenny said while reflecting on the previous season.
“But I still love Sumit, and I forgave him. He never wanted to be with his wife in the first place. It wasn’t his choice. Sumit is filing for his divorce. He’s proven to me that he wants to be with me. I’m the one he loves.”
However, love may not be enough if Sumit ever betrays Jenny’s trust again. Even though they were able to move past the fact that he lied to her about having a wife, Jenny insisted she would not deal with any more secrets in their relationship.
“If he lies to me again, that’s the worst thing he could do to me at this point. I don’t deserve that. If it doesn’t work this time, that will destroy me,” she explained.
“Sumit told me the divorce would be completed within two months and now he’s saying it could be six months. I thought it was already agreed, and he had a court date for the end of November to make that second, final payment, and his divorce was going to be done.”
Jenny previously appeared to be more confident about her future with Sumit. In May, the “90 Day Fiancé” star told TV Insider that her feelings for Sumit didn’t change after learning about his wife.
“We never broke up, that never happened. Of course, I did leave India because I had to for two reasons: you know the first reason, and the second reason was because of my visa. Our relationship never ended. We never broke up,” she explained.
“I knew that he was going to get his divorce so, I just went back and waited for that to happen. So that’s pretty much what I was waiting on, for him to get his divorce. We’ve always loved each other very much.”
“90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way” airs on Mondays at 9 p.m. EDT on TLC.
