‘90 Day Fiancé’ Update: Tom Blames Split On Darcy, Compares Himself To Jesse
Viewers who tuned into “90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days” Season 4, episode 8 saw Tom Brooks reflect on his break up with Darcey Silva. During the Sunday night episode, Tom reached out to his sister in the UK after Darcey stormed out of the restaurant following their split.
The emotional conversation was aired after the TLC star came under fire for making a comment about his ex-girlfriend’s weight. However, following the latest episode of the series, Tom took to his Instagram Story to respond to the backlash he has received after his harsh split with Darcey.
“For all those that want to hang me from the gallows, that was some of what I had to deal with so I moved on with my life,” Tom wrote.
Tom went on to compare himself to Darcey’s ex-fiancé Jesse Meester. The Amsterdamn native ended his relationship with the Connecticut resident after a series of arguments. “I’m @jessemeester in disguise apparently… Two totally different guys one come denominator. Same problem,” he said.
“And is it just me or did no one see the episode where I say I just wanted to be friends. Tired of being made to look like bad [sic] person so that someone can play the part of victim,” Tom added.
Last month, Darcey told Entertainment Tonight that she was disappointed about the way her relationship with Tom ended. The two struggled to maintain their long-distance relationship and Darcey later found photos of a woman on Tom’s social media.
Following the incident, the two agreed to meet in New York City. “I was open to see what he had to say, I just didn’t want to feel confused about where we were in the relationship and what I meant to him,” the “90 Day Fiancé” star explained.
“Do you love me? Are we together? You know, just be honest. I shouldn’t have to wait to see if you’re ready for a relationship or not. When I got back home, the communication kind of broke down again,” she said.
Overall, Darcey admitted she was hurt that Tom didn’t give her the same love she gave to him. “I personally am used to long-distance, maybe he wasn’t, so the fear of that made him second guess certain things, but I was always there for him,” she said.
“I was always very open about how I felt for him. He knew exactly how I felt and I just wanted that same respect in return.”
“90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days” airs Sundays at 8 p.m. EDT on TLC.
