A$AP Rocky, Rihanna Relationship Update: Couple Spends Christmas With Her Family, Report Says

A$AP Rocky and Rihanna's romance appears to be heating up as the pair spent Christmas together in her native Barbados.

After it was confirmed last month that A$AP and Rihanna are dating, the two took their relationship to the next level by spending the holidays with her family. Photos obtained by People showed the couple, who wore face masks, on their way to a Catamaran sunset cruise on Christmas Eve.

"Spending Christmas together was an obvious step for Rihanna and A$AP," an unnamed source was quoted by Entertainment Tonight as saying. "They've known each other for so long as friends and in a work setting, which makes it so easy for them to get along, travel together and be involved in each other’s lives to the full extent. They always have such a good time together and definitely seem in love."

Rihanna was born and raised in Barbados, and A$AP having a Bajan father brought the two closer.

"Rihanna relates to A$AP and it feels natural, easy and fun. She feels very comfortable around him since they’ve known each other for such a long time and also feels a connection to him because his dad is from Barbados," the source added.

Rihanna is proud of her home country. In fact, earlier this month, she sent Barbados her well-wishes for its 54th Independence Day.

"Woke up feeling like a Sunday in Barbados! If you know, then you know that’s the best feeling in the world! Wish I was home to celebrate our 54th year of independence yesterday! Love you Barbados, best place in the world to be and I can’t WAIT for my next Sunday morning at home," she wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, another source said A$AP has had a crush on the "Diamonds" hitmaker long before they officially became an item.

"Rihanna is very into A$AP and now that they’re not so busy with work, they’re able to spend more time together and are really enjoying it," the source said. "They’ve known each other for years and really trust each other as friends first and foremost, which has made their romantic relationship very strong. A$AP has always had a crush on Rihanna and there’s a lot of love there on both sides."

Rihanna and A$AP first worked together in 2012 for her track "Cockiness (Love It)" and toured together the following year. She also served as A$AP's muse in his "Fashion Killa" music video in 2013.

Most recently, the couple co-starred in Rihanna's Fenty Skin campaign in July.
