Aaron Ramsey Group Shoots Down Alleged Juventus Exit
KEY POINTS
- Ramsey group denies allegations of Wales International leaving Juventus
- Pirlo plans have yet to be fully revealed
- Ramsey doing well alongside Cristiano Ronaldo
Juventus F.C. is expected to undergo major changes as a result of Andrea Pirlo being installed as the club's new manager. That may include a change in the transfer targets and shuffling of players and personnel. There were claims that Aaron Ramsey could be one of the unfortunate casualties but all that was rebuffed by the Wales international group recently.
Pirlo takes over from Maurizio Sarri who was relieved following Juve's loss to Lyon in their Champions League last 16 matches. According to Goal, reports came out of Pirlo looking to sell Ramsey after joining the club last year. Avid Sports and Entertainment Group, the agency behind the 29-year-old player took to social media to rebuff those claims and said that Ramsey will be staying at Juventus Stadium.
Ramsey joined the Turin club last summer after 11 years with Arsenal F.C. In his first season with Juve, Ramsey has accounted for four goals in 35 appearances. He made only 11 starts in Serie A and struggled to secure a regular role.
Before the claim of Ramsey's representatives, the 29-year-old has been linked to possible moves to Manchester United. But considering he has been able to find ways to link up with Cristiano Ronaldo, Ramsey has found a way to be effective alongside the Portugal star.
“He’s one of the best players in history and there’s no questioning his commitment to the game and to what he needs to do for himself,” Ramsey said about Ronaldo in a report from The Athletic.
Pirlo is expected to come up with his plans, meaning Sarri's targets are likely to be scratched. One of the players linked to Juventus was Jorginho of Chelsea F.C. It would have made sense since both would be reunited at Juventus Stadium. When word of that came out, Jorginho's agent Joao Santos shot down those claims and said that the 28-year-old player plans to stay at Stamford Bridge and negotiate for a contract extension instead.
Instead of Jorginho, the name of Sandro Tonali was suggested instead. However, Juve needs to act fast if they have their eyes on the Brescia wonder kid with several clubs also targeting him. That list includes Manchester United, AC Milan and Inter Milan. Much of this was covered in a previous post.
