Aaron Rodgers named Super Bowl MVP
The Green Bay Packers have just won Super Bowl XLV and their quarterback Aaron Rodgers was named Super Bowl MVP. Rodgers finished with 304 yards and three touchdowns while completing 24-39 of his passes.
With this win and with the addition of a Super Bowl ring onto his finger, Rodgers solidifies his spot as one of the elite quarterbacks in the NFL.
Rodgers is 27 years old. This was his third full season as a starting QB--after three years spent apprenticing under Brett Favre--and he was particularly good throughout the playoffs, leading the No. 6 seed Packers to a championship.
Got to give credit to our defense. This is a great group of men that we put together here, a lot of character, been through a lot together, said Rodgers, who threw two TD passes to Greg Jnnings and one to Jordy Nelson. It's just great to be able to share it with them.
Rodgers was drafted 24th overall in the 2005 NFL Draft by the Packers.
