The annual Academy Awards, the Oscars, will also turn into an annual fashion event like every year, on Feb. 26, 2012, when Hollywood actresses sashay down the red carpet in various designer gowns.

While the audience will be hooked to the television to see winners presented with 84th Academy Awards at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center this Sunday, the fashion industry too will have their memorable moments as their creations will be showcased on actors and actresses.

Before the most-awaited entertainment award ceremony of the season unfolds, here are a few pictures of the most memorable Oscar dresses worn by Hollywood hotties so far.

Nominations for “Actress in a Supporting Role” are: Bérénice Bejo (The Artist), Jessica Chastain (The Help), Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids), Janet McTeer (Albert Nobbs) and Octavia Spencer (The Help).
