Actor Taye Diggs Turns Children’s Author, Writes ‘Chocolate Me’

Actor Taye Diggs can add Children's Author to his resume, thanks to his new book Chocolate Me.

Released Tuesday by the publisher Feiwel & Friends, Chocolate Me is about a little boy who has dark skin and curly hair and is teased for looking different.

You should be proud and embrace your differences regardless if its race or religion or if something is looked upon as a handicap, Diggs said in an interview with USA Today.

Diggs, 40, has a 2-year-old son, Walker Nathaniel, with wife and actress Idina Menzel.

I've never loved anything so much, he said, USA Today reported. It comes to the point where it's almost painful to realize that someone has you in such a vulnerable position.

The book is illustrated by Shane W. Evans, who has illustrated more than thirty picture books for children, according to his Harper Collins biography.

His illustrative work includes the books Li'l Rabbit's Kwanzaa and Olu's Dream, which he also authored.
