Adam Levine's hilarious rivalry with former fellow "Voice" coach Blake Shelton is still going strong, and he has a few thoughts on the country singer's upcoming wedding to Gwen Stefani.
The Maroon 5 frontman appeared in-person on Thursday's episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." During his chat with Ellen DeGeneres for the show's 3,000th episode, Levine joked that he doesn't support the union of his pals, who announced their engagement in October 2020.
"I don't support their marriage," Levine said. "She's so cool and he's not."
DeGeneres defended Shelton, saying the country star is "very funny and very smart."
"He's vaguely charming," Levine conceded, before adding, "I miss this. I've missed making so much fun of him."
When asked if he will be attending Shelton and Stefani's big day, Levine gave another cheeky response. "I'll go to the wedding and I'll object," he said. "I'll probably not be invited now that I'm saying this on live television, but I'll be there somehow."
When DeGeneres suggested, "Let's go together," Levine agreed, adding, "Let's go. Let's just crash."
Levine and Shelton became close during their time together on "The Voice," where they had served as coaches since it premiered in 2011, Shelton also met his future bride, Stefani, during Season 7 of the reality singing competition in 2014. However, Levine decided to leave the show in 2019 after 16 seasons.
In December, Shelton told Seth Meyers on "Late Night" that he would love to have the "Sugar" singer's band as the wedding band on his and Stefani's wedding.
"I've kind of decided that I've been doing this a long time now and I've got a lot of favors out there," Shelton said at the time. "He may not like it, but Adam Levine's gonna have to get the band together and come and play our wedding."
In March, Levine responded to Shelton's statement when he appeared on "The Morning Mash Up," revealing that he watched the country star's interview when it aired.
"He's like, 'Yeah, I'm gonna get Adam Levine to come play, he doesn't know it yet,' and I'm like sitting in bed eating popcorn and I'm like, 'Man, f--k you, I'm not gonna play at your wedding,'" Levin joked at the time.
Meanwhile, Stefani also gave some updates about her upcoming wedding to Shelton when she appeared on Meyers' talk show last Thursday. The "Hollaback Girl" singer said they plan to keep their nuptials "very simple" but will still make it "fun."
When asked about her groom's desire to have Levine and his band play on their big day, the "Rich Girl" songstress said it's unlikely to happen because they might not have a wedding band.
"I definitely would love to have Adam sing at our wedding. But the thing is, I feel like we're not going to have a wedding band," Stefani said. "I feel like we're just going to go with a playlist."
