Adam Levine Reveals The Real Reason He Left 'The Voice' On 'Ellen'
Fans of "The Voice" were shocked when Adam Levine announced he wouldn't be returning for Season 17 of the NBC show. Now months later, he's getting real about his decision to leave.
"I really do miss it," Levine said while on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." "I love the people that I met and worked with, and obviously we all know how I feel about Blake [Shelton]."
"I do miss it, but I also don’t miss how much I had to work," the 40-year-old continued. "I was just constantly working for so many years. Very lucky, very fortunate, very blessed, and all that, but just to be able to stop in this moment to spend time with my new young family and just have the greatest time ever."
Levine married to Namibian Victoria's Secret model Behati Prinsloo in 2014, about two years after they first started dating. Together the couple has two daughters -- 3-year-old Dusty Rose and 1-year-old Gio Grace -- and they are part of the reason why he took a step back from the hit singing competition show.
"I’m obsessed with them. I mean, I know that’s a good thing because they’re my children, but that’s why I don’t do much," he added.
The former "Voice" coach may have taken a step back from television, but music is still a big part of his life. While chatting with Ellen, Levine discussed his band Maroon 5's new single "Memories" and performed the song.
