Adam Sandler Recalls Working With Tom Hanks, First $100 Million Film, More [Watch]
Adam Sandler has revealed he was feeling faint, while working with Tom Hanks during a "Saturday Night Live" sketch.
Sandler, who was quizzed by his IMDb page, also talked about "jumping up and down" the first time a movie of his made over $100 million.
The 55-year-old comedian said "so scared" during his first television appearance because he was sharing the screen space with Hanks, 65.
"First time I appeared onscreen; I think it was Tom Hanks. Yes! I remember gasping for air, that I was so scared, and that I was going to faint. And I remember loving Edie Brickell that night," Sandler shared about the "Saturday Night Live" show where he was a part of a sketch, during an interview that dropped on June 10, YouTube.
The actor noted it was the "coolest" night of his life. "Man, that was just probably the coolest night of my life with just saying, ‘It’s official, I’m on “Saturday Night Live”’ because I was on air."
Sandler was also asked about his first movie that made a box office collection of over $100 million. The actor shared it was "The Waterboy," which was released in 1998. He also shared in the same year "The Wedding Singer" got released, and it made around 80 million.
"‘Waterboy’. I remember ‘The Wedding Singer’ for, like, 80. And then we were like, ‘We got to get in 100, man. That’d be fun,'" he recalled. "We got the phone call. We had a big opening."
The actor went on to share his team's reaction when they first heard that the movie had an opening of 40 million, "We did, like, 40 million and we were like, ‘What?’ Jumping up and down, cranking songs, laughing, and having a good time. I had a very loose night that night."
However, when the actor was asked about his first popular role, he wasn't sure if it was 1994's release "Airheads" or "Mixed Nuts," which also released in the same year.
At the end of the interview, the actor said, "That was IMDb’s kind of, quizzing if I know me at all… and I don’t."
Considering his upcoming projects, Sandler will be next seen in the movies like "Spaceman" and "Murder Mystery 2."
