Adrienne Bailon - Israel Houghton Update: Before Wedding, Couple To Remain Celibate
"The Real" host Adrienne Bailon and fiancé Israel Houghton are taking the same vow of celibacy as “I Bet” singer Ciara and Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. The couple is abstaining from sex until they get married, the former Cheetah Girl revealed to People Magazine at her Parisian-themed co-ed wedding shower hosted by West Hollywood eatery Fig & Olive on Saturday.
While talking about the shower games "The Real" co-host Jeannie Mai planned, Bailon reveled she and Houghton will not have sex until they’re married. "Jeannie is a game host for all time,” Bailon said. "She had people re-enacting moments in our relationship and then some that were very risque since we’re saving ourselves."
Bridal showers aren’t traditionally co-ed, but Bailon wanted to celebrate with Houghton, who she called her best friend. "I always knew if I did a bridal shower I knew I needed it to be co-ed. I can’t imagine celebrating my engagement without my fiancé," Bailon said. "I like hanging out with him so why would I want do celebrate without him."
The couple picked Paris for their theme since that’s where they got engaged. The TV personality, who famously dated Rob Kardashian in her past, talked about her DIY touches for the shower. "The Eiffel towers were black but we wanted them rose gold like my engagement ring, so we got spray paint and sat on the deck of our house and spray painted them ourselves," she said. "We had frames that I got there and put pictures in it. I did all the table setting myself with Israel."
While these days may appear to be bliss, Houghton isn’t without scandal. The gospel singer is reportedly being sued after he allegedly fathered two children outside his 20-year marriage to Meleasa Houghton. He admits he is the father of 31-year-old De Vawn Moreno’s oldest son, Kingston, 4, but it has not been determined if he fathered her youngest, Khristian, 2.
