Noah Solloway may either want to change his identity or go into hiding. This season of Showtime’s “The Affair” is becoming another whodunit, and it appears that someone is out to destroy — or possibly kill — the disgraced author.

In the Season 3 premiere of “The Affair,” Noah (Dominic West) was trying to get back to a normal life after serving time in prison but was being stalked by a prison security guard (Brendan Fraser). The episode ended with Noah getting stabbed and left bleeding on his kitchen floor.

In a preview (seen above) of episode 3, Helen (Maura Tierney) pretends to be Noah’s wife in order to see him in the hospital. Helen is frantic and wants to know who would stab Noah.

In a shorter sneak-peek video (below), Noah is seen in the back of an ambulance being rushed to the hospital. In that same clip, Helen is seen asking Noah who stabbed him but he doesn’t seem to remember anything. Two detectives also visit Noah and ask him if there is anyone Noah has issues with. They want to know about his relationship with Cole (Joshua Jackson) and Alison (Ruth Wilson). The detectives also question him about Juliette (Irene Jacob) and tell him that she’s the one who found him in his apartment. Nina (Jennifer Esposito) is seen later in the sneak-peek clip asking her brother what Juliette was doing in his apartment late at night.

Another clip of next week’s episode shows Noah confronting Juliette about her being in his apartment. Noah tells Juliette that he doesn’t remember why she was there. “You didn’t forget, you weren’t expecting me,” she says as she changes the bandage on his neck.

According to TV Guide, Noah’s stabbing and brush with death could spell the end of his affair with Juliette. In the premiere, the French professor tried to sleep with Noah, but he panicked and left her house before anything could happen. “Juliette, running from secrets she left in Paris, looks for adventure and romance in America. Noah is an alluring prospect but a terrifying event blasts her hopes of a carefree affair,” the synopsis reads. “Meanwhile, Noah must fight like never before and try to make sense of what just occurred.”

“The Affair” Season 3 airs Sundays at 10 p.m. EST on Showtime.
