Afghan anti-NATO protests enter second day
Afghans protest against NATO raids for the second day in a row in the northern city of Taloqan.
Security forces opened fire on the protesters but no immediate casualties were reported, according to a city report by BBC.
At least 12 people were shot dead in firing and a suicide bomber killed 13 people in Taloqan where protests against NATO raid began on Wednesday.
The Afghan government has repeatedly warned NATO about such irresponsible operations, President Hamid Karzai told to local media.
The Afghan authorities say the raid was conducted unilaterally by Nato, but the alliance says it was a joint operation with Afghan forces and that the Takhar provincial governor
“It was a joint operation of NATO and Afghan forces and the Takhar provincial governor was told about it before it took place,” alliance said.
An overnight operation killed two women and two men on the outskirts of Taloqan, NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said. It also said that the women were armed, with an assault rifle and a pistol.
