‘Agents Of SHIELD’ Star Chloe Bennet Addresses Quake Spinoff Show Rumors
“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will come to an end this summer with the final season, but fans are hopeful that some of their favorite characters might still find their way to other projects. Star Chloe Bennet added that she’d like to see her character, Daisy Johnson/Quake, live on in a spinoff.
Ahead of next week’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Season 7 premiere, Bennet answered some fan questions on Twitter. One person asked about Quake spinoff rumors. The actress revealed that, unfortunately, she hasn’t heard anything from legitimate sources at Marvel or Disney+. However, she said she “wish[es] it were true.”
Bennet, 28, has been playing Quake since the show’s first episode in 2013. She also voices Quake in the animated “Marvel Rising” franchise.
Unfortunately, it seems like most of Marvel Television’s live-action shows are being phased out. The decision to end ABC’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” was mostly made by the creative side. The others, however, ended without notice, leading to most having less than satisfying series finales.
Within less than two years, “Daredevil,” “Jessica Jones,” “Iron Fist,” “Luke Cage” and “The Punisher” were canceled at Netflix while Freeform axed “Cloak and Dagger” and Hulu ended “Runaways.”
Marvel Television’s “Helstrom” is still in production at Hulu, marking the only live-action show moving forward at the TV branch, which still has plenty of animated series in the works.
For the most part, it seems like Marvel Studios is taking over the live-action small-screen projects. While the previous live-action shows have been set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there was very little crossover between the TV shows and films. Marvel Studios will change that by bringing the Avengers to the small screen. “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” is set to debut in August on Disney+ while “Wandavision” will join the new streaming service in December.
However, with the current health crisis putting projects on delays and holds, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Season 7 is likely to be one of the few Marvel projects releasing this year.
Season 7 picks up with the team in the 1930s trying to find a way to save the world. It looks like they just might have to save Hydra to protect the future.
“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Season 7 premieres Wednesday, May 27 on ABC.
