Air France-KLM To Staff: Accept Pay Cut Or 10% Staff Reduction
Air France-KLM SA will lay off more than 5,000 employees, about 10 percent of the staff of the money-losing European airline, unless its unionized workers accept reduced compensation.
The announcement Thursday by the Franco-Dutch carrier, which said the cuts will be made by the end of next year, follows last month's announcement by German rival Deutsche Lufthansa AG that it is cutting 3,500 jobs.
