An airline passenger caught a baggage handler with Alaska Airlines on camera throwing suitcases to the ground directly from the plane's hold. The video, which was taken May 16, was first posted to Twitter by Raz Davidov and immediately sparked outrage among social media users.

The video shows one luggage after another being thrown to the floor without any care or attention. The ground handling agent at the Los Angeles airport attempted to get the bags off the aircraft as quickly as possible.

A luggage cart can be seen waiting directly below the cargo hold. However, the man kept on hurling the bags to the ground.

"Taken place at LAX, Los Angeles International Airport, one of the Alaska Airlines workers was carelessly throwing luggage out of the plane. This is unacceptable!" Davidov wrote on Twitter.

Twitter users slammed the baggage handler and some of them called the situation "typical."

"They don't get paid enough for the amount of work that they do," one user wrote. "Tell @AlaskaAir TO HIRE AND PAY THEIR STAFF PROPERLY."

Another commented: "That's dropping, not throwing... I see a guy working that doesn't have the proper equipment. Such a massive 5 ft drop for luggage designed to handle such issues. #fauxoutrage."

Ray Lane, a spokesman for the airline, called the video "extremely concerning" and apologized for the reckless handling of the luggage, the Daily Mail reported. In a statement, Alaska Airlines said the man handling the luggage was a contract vendor.

"The video is extremely concerning. The contract vendor clearly violated our policies," the statement read. "We expect all employees to treat the luggage and cargo of our guests as they would their own. We apologize to our guests whose baggage was handled so recklessly."

Alaska Airlines also said it has launched an investigation into the incident.

In a similar incident last year, baggage handlers with Cathay Pacific Airways were caught on camera throwing checked-in bags at an airport in Hong Kong. The 37-second clip showed two luggage handlers at Hong Kong International Airport flinging the bags -- including suitcases, cardboard boxes and what appear to be fragile items -- from a conveyer belt into a cart. The incident took place when the luggage handlers were unloading the plane after it landed in Hong Kong.
