- Apple released new firmware for the AirPods Pro, version 3A283

- Downloading and installing the new firmware version can be done in a few easy steps
Cupertino tech giant Apple has released a new firmware update for the AirPods Pro, version 3A283. It brings a few new features designed to improve the AirPods Pro audio experience when users update the 2D27 firmware they had installed previously.
Downloading and installing the new firmware version to a pair of AirPods Pro is easy, as in previous versions. Here's how to do it:
- First, users should put the AirPods Pro in the charging case, if these aren't in yet. The audio accessory will not get the update unless this is done.
- Second, users should connect the case to the charger to charge them. This can be done using a wired or wireless charger.
- Third, connect the AirPods Pro to the iPhones or iPads and place them near each other.
- Lastly, users must make sure that the iPhone or iPad is connected to the internet.
The AirPods Pro should automatically download and install the latest firmware version after the user does all of the above steps. Users can verify if it has successfully updated itself by doing the following:
- First, users should make sure that the AirPods Pro remain connected to the iPhone or iPad.
- Second, on the iOS device, users should to Settings, select General, then About, then select AirPods Pro.
- Third, once there, users should check the firmware version.
The firmware version displayed on the screen should read as “3A283.” If not, users should proceed to update the firmware version manually.
Those who aren't really in need of a firmware update can ignore this. The AirPods Pro will eventually update itself as long as the conditions stated above are met.
Why update?
Users should update to the new firmware version 3A283 because it brings, among other features, the spatial audio feature that Apple promised during this year's WWDC. Spatial audio is designed to give users a better 3D audio experience on their AirPods Pro, The Verge noted.
It also brings the automatic switching feature that allows the AirPods Pro to easily switch between the iPhone, iPad and Mac. This means users will enjoy a more seamless transition between their devices.
