The Cupertino-based tech giant rolled out a new firmware update for the recently released Apple AirPods Pro. The latest firmware version listed as 2B588 is intended to update the 2B584 that AirPods Pro shipped when it was launched in October. As per Apple Insider, the most recent update is rolling out and automatically updates shipped units.

It is worth noting that the latest Apple AirPods Pro firmware only affects the AirPods Pro and not AirPods. Since the Cupertino-based tech giant has not yet released the release notes for the latest firmware update of its accessory, it is hard to tell what the latest firmware does to AirPods Pro. The minor change in the build number of the firmware hints it could be a bug fix or a performance enhancement update.

There is a great chance that the latest Apple AirPods Pro firmware update fixes bugs or resolves connectivity issues. For instance, several AirPods Pro users are reporting of seeing one of the earbuds to show a red exclamation point while glitching out. Although the issue does not seem to cause significant connectivity issues, it is frustrating and could prevent the user from seeing the charge level of their Apple AirPods Pro.

There is no special process to get the latest firmware update installed. Users do not have to do anything since it will automatically install when the device is connected to an iPad or an iPhone. Also, there is no update mechanism to force the update to the Apple AirPods Pro.

But, if you want to make sure that your Apple AirPods Pro is running on the latest firmware, open the Settings app of your iPhone or iPad or iPod Touch. Find General, then go to About and open the case of your AirPods Pro. A tab will appear for the device, tap the tab and look for the Firmware version.

It is important to note that users must make sure that their AirPods Pro is within the supplied charging case so the update could take place with the case on charge and within range of the iOS device.
