Alabama Fraternity President Dressed As Trump To Chase 'Immigrant'
A fraternity president was caught in new video footage Thursday screaming and chasing an "immigrant" as he was seemingly dressed up as President Donald Trump at Troy University in Troy, Alabama. The university's Dean of Student Services and the Office of Student Involvement are currently investigating the incident
Four members of the FarmHouse International Fraternity participated in the skit, which occurred Oct. 31. The video depicts what appears to be someone wearing a sombrero and serape while others appeared to be dressed as border patrol agents. One participant appeared to be dressed up in a suit and Trump mask, yelling: "Get back here! Go! Go! Get out!"
The video, which was recorded on Snapchat, was captioned: "When you ask them to build the wall."
The second part of the video shows the man dressed in the sombrero and serape being carted away by the apparent fake border patrol officer.
"We are disturbed by news that those members wore insensitive costumes and performed an offensive skit," FarmHouse CEO Christian Wiggins told International Business Times Thursday. "This behavior is not consistent with FarmHouse principles, and we are coordinating with the University and chapter to further investigate these concerns."
Wiggins added, "Farmhouse at Troy is a diverse organization, and the men pride themselves on bringing individuals together from all different backgrounds. We will not tolerate discrimination in any form and once the investigation is complete will ensure that members involved are held accountable through our conduct process."
The organization will continue to work with the chapter and university to aid in this matter.
Farmhouse's Troy University chapter reportedly issued an apology Thursday. The fraternity brothers claimed to "deeply regret" hurting the Troy community.
"We sincerely apologize for the actions that occurred during an event at the fraternity house on Oct. 31," the chapter wrote in a statement Thursday, according to WSFA. "These actions fall well short of the standards we expect of our members, and the individuals responsible will face appropriate disciplinary action."
The chapter's actions go against the fraternity's objective.
"The object of our Fraternity is to promote good fellowship, to encourage studiousness, and to inspire its members in seeking the best in their chosen lines of study as well as in life," the chapter's objective reads. "Men elected to our membership are considered to be of good moral character, to be high in scholarship, to have the capacity for meeting and making friends, and to give promise of service to their fellowmen and to the world."
A representative for Troy University and FarmHouse International Fraternity did not immediately return International Business Times' request for comment.
