For the fourth season in a row, the Alabama Crimson Tide will take on the Clemson Tigers in the College Football Playoff. The two college football powerhouses will play each other in the CFP National Championship game in Santa Clara, California on Jan. 7.

Oddsmakers favor the Tide, which is not surprising, but the spread is significantly smaller than what is usually given to Alabama. The Tide are favored by six points, according to OddsShark. Additionally, oddsmakers set the over/under at 59.5 points.

Both teams have explosive offenses and stout defenses, so it will be tempting to either take the over or the under in this game. Alabama has scored more than 30 points in all but two of its games this season; Clemson has done it in all but three.

Both teams enter the game with identical 14-0 records, and both teams are 8-6 against the spread this season.

Alabama is coming off a 45-34 shootout victory over the Oklahoma Sooners in the semifinals. Clemson, meanwhile, took care of business against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to the tune of a 30-3 thrashing in the other playoff game on Saturday.

These two programs previously met in the national title games in 2015 and 2016. Alabama won the first round and Clemson won the second. The third game took place in the semifinals last season, with Alabama winning handily.
