'Aladdin' Star Mena Massoud Shares First Look Of Upcoming Netflix Movie 'The Royal Treatment'
Mena Massoud gave his fans a peek into his new look for the upcoming Netflix movie, "The Royal Treatment." The 30-year-old Egyptian-Canadian actor shared two photos on Twitter on Wednesday.
In the first one, Massoud is seen wearing a royal blue velvet suit for the character of Prince Thomas, next to co-star Laura Marano, who plays the role of Isabelle in the movie, dressed in a casual red and black outfit. In the next photo, the actor is seen smiling while sitting at a table, wearing a pink suit with a blue pocket square.
"Excited to share the first look at The Royal Treatment. Available on @netflix, January 20, 2022," Massoud captioned the photos.
Fans took to the comments section and shared their excitement for the upcoming flick.
One of the fans wrote, "Finally!!!! There’s something to look forward to in 2022 already," while another fan noted, "Omg mena, you both look amazing! Can't wait to watch and talk about it 24/7."
This is not the first time Massoud is portraying the role of a prince on-screen. Previously, he was featured in Disney's live-action movie, "Aladdin," which dropped in 2019. The movie sees Massoud in the role of a street urchin who pretends to be a prince to get closer to Jasmine, the princess of Agrabah. The movie also featured Naomi Scott, Will Smith, Billy Magnussen and Alan Tudyk.
Disney announced earlier this year that there will be a sequel to "Aladdin" and writers John Gatins and Andrea Berloff are working on an original script, considering the first installment was a remake of 1992's animated movie of the same name.
"The Royal Treatment" revolves around Isabella's character running a salon while Prince Thomas is busy running his own country. Their paths cross at a royal wedding and the two learn how they need to be in charge of their own destiny.
The movie is under post-production and it will stream on Netflix from Jan. 20, 2022.
Besides "The Royal Treatment," Massoud will also feature in an action drama, "In Broad Daylight," which is currently under pre-production. The movie is directed by Morcos Adel. Marano, on the other hand, will appear in a movie, "2 Men & a Pig."
