It’s been more than 10 years since “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” premiered in theaters and during that time, many of the cast members in the series have passed away, including Alan Rickman who played Severus Snape.

Rickman appeared in eight “Harry Potter” films before his death on Jan. 14, 2016. At the age of 69, the actor passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Following his death, fans of the series created a memorial underneath the Platform 9 3/4 sign at King’s Cross train station in London.

In 2011, Rickman spoke about his time working on the series and called it a “punctuation mark” in his life. “I would be doing other things but always come back to that and I was always aware of my place in the story even as others around me were not,” Rickman told the Los Angeles Times.

“Am I sad? The point about a great story is that it’s got a beginning, a middle and end. The ending of this story was quite popular and beautifully judged by Jo Rowling and David Yates, so it’s not a cause for sadness; it’s a cause for celebration that it was rounded off so well,” he added.
